Week 2

Week Two Progress:

This week we turned in our project proposal. We met with the professors and discussed the location that we picked and found that there would be complications with the subway system that was under our location. We decided to pick a new location that would allow us to dig underground. The location that we wanted to work on is the Ludlow Street in between 30th street and 32nd street. This location does not have any subway systems underneath it so we are able to dig through the concrete to build our GSI. Our plan for this area is to build tree trenches that can hold storm water, and to also add small rain gardens that would have cut outs in the concrete curb. This would allow runoff to enter the areas.
